Founded in 1033, ORI Martin is a modern steel plant with an electric furnace, considered one of the most advanced companies in technological and innovative terms. Thanks to farsighted investments in Research and Development, over the years it has become a benchmark for the steel sector. It produces special steels for various applications, (bolts, suspension springs, torsion bars, steering and transmission components) to be mainly used for mechanical, energy and construction industries. Most of the produced steel supplies the automotive and railway sector. The main raw material used to produce steel is scrap. Accordingly, ORI Martin is part of the circular economy model.
The Group’s current composition is the result of a diversification strategy that began in the 1960s which led to the internalisation and consolidation of various companies operating at different levels of the steel industry. This strategy is much appreciated by customers because it guarantees full traceability, end-product quality and punctual deliveries along the entire transformation chain.
Its Brescia site produces continuous casting billets, hot rolled steel in coils and bars, and induction tempered wire. The company is also equipped with modern systems for the annealing and quenching and tempering of bars and coils and at Trafilati Martin Spa, with systems for the chemical pickling and sandblasting of coils.
Specific Activities in the project:
- Realization and Installation of Induction Heating Technology
- Industrial Tests
- Green Energy optimization strategy
- Techno-econmic evaluations
- Support in D&C&E strategy

of the largest in the European steel sector, allows us to develop new technologies and products that help
us meet the needs of our customers.
Along these lines, we are transforming Sidenor to become a benchmark in Industry 4.0, improving and
digitalising our production processes to make them more efficient, safer and of higher quality, which
allows us to be increasingly competitive.
In a sustainable way
We manage all our activities in accordance with the principles of circular economy, with the aim of
minimising the resources used and reducing our emissions.
We continually seek intelligent alternatives for the reduction, reuse and recovery of waste generated
during steel production. This philosophy allows us to maintain a socially responsible behaviour towards
investors, suppliers, customers, society and the communities in which we carry out our activities.
At Sidenor we are building, in collaboration with all the agents in our value chain, a path aimed at
achieving business excellence in order to continue growing in a sustainable way and to ensure our future.
